CARING FOR YOUR JEWELLERY

CARE
Jewellery is fragile and requires care!
I recommend taking off jewellery pieces when applying makeup and perfume, showering, swimming, doing strenuous activity, gardening and sleeping to ensure the piece stays in perfect condition. Ensure to take your necklaces off when sleeping as they can tangle and the links can break. Surfaces and treatments may fade or change over time as you and the jewellery share a life together.

ENAMEL
Please keep enamel away from detergents, chlorine, perfume, soap, ultrasonic and liquid jewellery cleaners. To clean, simply wipe with a soft cloth. Enamel while quite robust can be damaged if dropped on a hard surface, so please handle your jewellery with care. When not wearing your beautiful piece, please store in a dry place, and when travelling always keep it in a separate box from other jewellery.

SOLID GOLD
Gold does not rust, tarnish or corrode, so buying a solid gold piece means it will last if proper care is taken. Always store your gold pieces seperate from your other jewellery to ensure the surface finish remains in perfect condition.
To clean, use a soft cloth or jewellery polishing cloth

CHAINS
Each chain is quality tested before leaving the studio, and although of the highest quality, they are not indestructible. Chains will wear over time. I recommend taking off chains when applying makeup and perfume, showering, swimming, doing strenuous activity, gardening, when taking off scarves, jumpers or coats to ensure the chain is kept in the best possible condition. Always take your necklaces off when sleeping as they can tangle and the links can break.

Do get in touch if something happens to your chain, as a repair may be possible.

GOLD PLATING
Gold plated pieces are solid sterling silver with gold plating. While a beautiful finish, please note gold plating can wear with time and exposure to chemicals such as perfume, makeup and oils. Pieces can be re-plated should you need it, refer to returns and exchanges for details.  Store your gold plated pieces individually wrapped, preferably in a tarnish proof bag or ziplock bag and in a seperate box to ensure it stays in perfect condition.
To clean, simply wipe gently with a gold jewellery cloth.

STERLING SILVER
The sterling silver is nickel free, which is the metal that can cause irritation. So you can rest assured that your jewellery will not cause this type of skin irritation.
Sterling silver will oxidise with time. The dulling, greying or blackening effect (oxidation or tarnishing) is caused by exposure to skin oils, perfumes and chemicals and oxygen. To take the best care of your silver pieces, please store in a cool dry place, preferably in a ziplock bag, seperate from other jewellery pieces.
To clean, use a silver cloth.

GEMSTONES
We source only the most quality gemstones and, however they still require care.

OPALS
Opals are beautiful but they are delicate and require care! Do not wear your opal in any situation where it could get knocked or scratched like gardening or exercising. Solid opals can get wet, and to clean use a damp cloth. Doublets should not get wet, and to clean use a dry cloth. Avoid any exposure to any chemicals and never put opals in an ultrasonic to clean.

PEARLS
The surface of pearls are very delicate, and any moisture can affect the lustre and colours. It is recommended if they need a clean, to wipe with a dry soft cloth, and always store in a dark sealed bag. The should be the last thing you put on, and the first thing you take off.
